Simply Stated-Christie Lacy-Houston Photographer

I’m feeling a bit sentimental today. Smack-dab in the middle of 2 birthdays, my oldest turing 7 (yesterday), my baby turning two (tomorrow). Where had the time gone? Wasn’t it just yesterday they were so tiny, cradled in my arms? If I think hard enough, I can hear their baby cries, smell their baby skin. Pure bliss. But I know, they must go on. It’s not that I don’t love these stages they are in now. I just want to keep them innocent, keep them mine before they go out into the world and contribute to society. Savor these moments, new moms and moms to be!

Today, I was digging around my computer, cleaning some things up. I went through my bookmarks and came across something I probably meant to share with you, internet friends. As I re-read the article, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was written by Gretchen Ruben, whose Happiness Project I subscribe to, to find insight. Anyhow, read on below or click here to be directed to the actual entry!

Party Time-Christie Lacy-Houston Photographer

Everytime I leave the house, once the door is shut, and if I wait outside, I can hear a bunch of little monkeys screaming “Party Time!!!”. My lovely husband taught them that and now whenever I leave, they really do think it’s party time. *sigh* :)

But this weekend I will be home, I’m not going anywhere to miss this party! We have 2 birthdays this week within days of each other. And since Julesy is only going to be 2 (and really has no friends), we’re pairing her birthday up with Darius’s. Kill 2 birds with one stone right?!

Look at my big boy! I can’t believe he’s turning 7 this year. Once they hit school, it seems like they just grow up waaaaay too quickly! I swear it was only yesterday he was turning one!

And miss Julesey turns two this week! I can not believe how much she’s grown. Little girls are definitely different than boys. She’s so sweet, but I wish she would be this age forever :)

Christmas Cards!

It’s not too late to start thinking about Christmas Cards! In fact, the earlier you start planning, the more time you’ll have has the Holiday Rush draws near! Below are just a few designs for this year’s holiday cards!

Have you already had a session this year? Don’t worry! You can still use images from your previous session for this years cards! Even more, if you pre-purchase these cards by September 1st, you’ll get them at the current pricing! It will be not only a huge savings of time, but money as well!

This year’s Christmas Cards will be 5×7 folded cards! They have a beautiful image of your children or family on the outside, as well as a smaller image on the top inside. You can also add a personal message to send to your friends and family! The cards are printed on gorgeous premium pearlescent card stock, envelopes included!  Contact me for more details!

grandparents, blue bell, smiles-Christie Lacy Photography- Houston, TX

A few weeks ago I took a break from work as my parents came to visit. It was such a nice visit! The kids had a great time going on walks, swimming in the pool, visiting Blue Bell and playing mini golf while they were here. I had a great time when they took the kids away, haha! But really, it was perfect timing that they came. I unfortunately came down with a cold for half of their visit, and it was so nice having my mommy around. Ya know, sometimes you just need your mommy and no one else will do. I was sad to see them go, but hopefully they’ll be back or we can visit Arizona soon.

Here are a few snaps of our trip to Blue Bell. What a fun place that is! I love the old timey soda fountain feel it has, checkered floors and all! They came out with this new flavor, Candy Jar.
Oh my gosh! It’s a little scoop of heaven, I tell ya!

And the last snap of all of them before their long drive home to the oven called Arizona.
I promise my mom is not strangling Julesy. She just didn’t want to sit :)

Ms. Mandy

Last week I was asked to photograph Mandy. Mandy needed some headshots for a upcoming pageant that she is participating in. Mandy is a married mama of 3 kiddos that are very close to my kids ages.
She’s lookin fabulous here!!

At first, Mandy was hesitant to enter, but found through the support of her friends and family, that she couldn’t pass up the opportunity. “It is basically a pageant looking for women who have integrity, good morals, and have good character. They want not only someone who is beautiful on the outside, but the inside. It is for all ages. This is a pageant that shows beauty doesn’t expire as you age.”

She is currently a stay at home mom who keeps busy with homemaking, being a hairdresser, and as a secretary/bookkeeper for her husband’s company. Her coach is Jessica Lindsey, who has won several pageants, and is currently Ms. Texas American Beauty.

Mandy’s platform is based on family experiences with her cousin and late aunt. Her aunt dedicated time to her cousin, who has cerebral palsy. “I have a special place in my heart for special kids. They are, to me, Gods angels. My aunt was a true inspiration to me and I would love to continue her acts of service for the mentally and physically challenged.”
