Cute Munchkins - Christie Lacy- Houston Photographer

I’m such a fan of mom-made/home-made things. We women are so creative! My sister’s sister-in-law sent Juliana this darling fabric photo album filled with pictures of our family. Juliana loves it so much! I’ve been meaning to take some snaps of it, but haven’t gotten a chance to do so. Here’s an image from Kari’s store:

Last week I was telling my sister about these little treasure bags that Christina had picked up for her give away. They’re so cute–and so quiet!!! And sure enough, I open my email this morning to find that Kari had made some and has some for sale in her etsy store!

Welcome Millie - Christie Lacy - Houston Photographer

I miss the days like the one I had the opportunity to be a part of today. Sleepless nights, quiet and lazy days, visitors coming and going. There’s nothing in the world quite like the early days after you’ve welcomed a brand new person into this world. There’s a brand new somebody in the world, and I was given the opportunity to photograph her.

M is a big sister for the second time, and C is a big brother for the first! C and S have welcomed their third child earlier last week. I called to find out how mom was doing last week and she happened to be on her way home from the hospital and all was well. They had me over today and I spent a few hours there, being a part of their family, witnessing the love and excitement that the children had for their brand new sister.

Congratulations, C family. Thank you for allowing me in your home to capture these early and cherished moments of your family and little ones. I look forward to many more!

Introducing…Portrait Events - Christie Lacy - Houston Photographer

Like so many of you, I’m torn between family time, work time, play time, drive time and more. I know there are so many things that I would love to do with my time, but I just don’t have enough of it! Well, I’ve come up with a way to help us both, at least where portraits are concerned :)

This year (2008-2009) I’m introducing Portrait Events. What is it? you ask. Let me explain!
A Portrait Event is much like the home shows that we all go to, where we touch, learn and experience some of the items that we are interested in purchasing. A Portrait Event allows you to get a small taste of the Christie Lacy Photography Experience, with no obligation to purchase, no cost for the session!

There are certain requirements that must be met for the Event to take place. If you’re interested in gathering a few friends and their children for an opportunity for a mini-experience, call or email me to find out more information!

touched - Christie Lacy - Houston Photographer

Last evening, I was having dinner with a friend. When she excused herself to the ladies room, I decided to check my iphone for mail. When I opened my mail box, I came across this letter:

“Hi Christie!
Whoa…..you seriously moved me to tears with the beautiful pictures and that song! Girl, you are such an amazing photographer. I was blown away with the pictures! You really captured my sweet boy and every bit of his sweetness!!! My hubby and I are so pleased with the photos and so excited that we will have you capture his first year and beyond!!! This is going to be a tough decision to pick and chose which photos we will be purchasing, because they are all so gorgeous!”

Amazing.

Here’s another short note from Monday:

“Amazed and humbled, I am….you are incredible, Christie!”

Wow. I’m not showing you these to brag, but to let you know how grateful to all of you, my dear friends and clients, for allowing me the brief opportunity to capture your loved ones. I know how protective I am of my family, and how personal the things we do on a daily basis are. But you all have let me into your family, treated me as one of your own, trusted me with your children and more. I feel so blessed to have been given this talent that I have, to share it with you, to have my life filled with such incredible people and children. Thank you all so much for giving me the opportunity.

She’s turning 5 - Christie Lacy - Houston Photographer

I’m sure some of you will recognize this little girl. I first was lucky enough to photograph her last year. She’s made such an impact on the way I photograph children. And her mom is the best mom ever and so willing to let me have the creative freedom I need to capture her daughter’s essence. So when Mom called me and said she wanted something awesome for her 5 year old pictures, I can’t even tell you how excited I got!!

Fast forward to Saturday, and the time was here! The setting was perfect, the dress (custom-made from Stitched with Love By Erica) was perfect. Miss L was perfect. Everything fell into place! We headed to town to photograph at an amazing dessert boutique with the best cupcakes and staff one could ask for and made magic happen.

Thanks, gals, for having such fun with me!! Hope your birthday is amazing, L!!
