Greater Houston Area Children and Family Photography | Christie Lacy bio picture

Come in and stay a while :)

Hi! I'm Christie. I'm married (Jerome) and mama to 3 beautiful kiddos (8, 6 & 3). They keep me busy, but they keep me young. I love seeing the world through their eyes, learning about things I'd forgotten about since I was their ages. I love that they find beauty in the smallest things. I love their wonderment and awe, their many moods and their desire to know everything they can.

I wasn't a photographer before my children. I didn't grow up using my father's Pentax film camera. I think I got a little camera for one of my birthdays, but probably lost it somewhere along the way. If that's a story you were expecting to hear, I'm sorry to dissappoint!

Photography was something that I grew into as my desire to freeze in time everything that these wonderful blessings embraced. From the way my middle one closes his eyes in bliss every time he eats (he has a real love for tasty foods), to capturing the boys playing in mud, and seeing baby girl's imagination come to life when she dons her princess garb. As I've seen with my now 8 year old, time passes way too swiftly. The things that they do today, will be gone tomorrow, all except for the photographs.

My goal for your session is to help you freeze your moments. Your child's stages of life, their joy, their imagination, and even the temper tantrums. So whether you want to hop out on the golf course, have a baking cookies session, or wander around in the park, let's capture your real life moments. Yes, my goal is to capture these moments so that you'll have them to remember back on. But more importantly, my goal is to capture them for your children to look back on. Do this for you, but more importantly, do it for them.

My Style
Lollipops and popsicles. Frogs and fish. Tea parties and
wrestling matches. All the little things your little ones love,
and all the things you love about your little ones. These are the things I want to capture for you.

As a mother myself, I know how important these moments
are.  My three peas have grown so quickly. I often
wish I could make time stand still, and that I can hold onto
their wonder and their excitement. So often we forget to
take time to bask in what is real, what is fun, what is
childhood.

Growing up, my mother always made us very aware of the Arts.
Whether it was with her painting, taking us to museums or to the
ballet, my sisters and I grew a fondness for all things artsy.  Little
did I know that that would affect me years later.  But it has in the shape of photography.

Photography has become my passion over the last few years. I love capturing moments, I love seeing children being themselves without a care in the world. I love capturing the love two people show on their wedding day. I love capturing all of these moments that make us who we are, so that when we look back, they are not only memories, but heirlooms we can pass on to our family.

My goal for your sessions is to create something entirely different than what you’ve experienced previously in professional photography. I strive to set myself apart from your every day photographer. You’ll rarely see matching shirts or matching anything in my galleries. We don’t dress the same in real life, why do it for pictures? I want both you and your children to be comfortable, doing the things you do every day, being who you are everyday. If that means dress-up princesses and superheroes, that’s fine by me.

Cherish the here and now.
