I’m getting back into the swing of things after being gone a week. Unfortunately, I came home from my trip to Phoenix with a cold. Pair that with the fact that my ears still have not popped from my plane ride and this end of spring break is not going very well.

But it started off great! I was so happy to be visiting my family who all live in Arizona! We had a birthday lunch for my grandmother and then a baby shower for my sister, Michele. My youngest sister, Kari, and I ran around all day Saturday trying to find the perfect decorations. Yes, I know it was last minute, but I couldn’t pack all of the supplies in my suitcase So we shopped. I think we had a great time, though we were a bit tired by Saturday night.

She has them, the bluest blue eyes I’ve ever seen. They are strikingly beautiful and intense, to match her sweet face. She’s one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met. I think she’s probably only frowned 2 or 3 times since I’ve met her.  She’s turning one.

So mom called me to set up her one year old session. The problem was that our weather was so unpredictable (still is! we’re supposed to get cold again) and every time we’d plan something we’d have to wait and see. But thankfully the good Lord let up a little and provided us with the Springiest Spring weather. The green grass is turning green again and the leaves on my willows are starting to sprout. I love this time of year and it was perfect for Ellie’s one year old birthday outfit. Doesn’t she look like a sweet cuppy-cake? Happy birthday, sweet girl!

It’s very rare that I say yes to events such as these. It’s not that I don’t love them. I really do, and infact, at one point thought that this was where I wanted to be with my photography. However, a plan was laid out and so here I am focusing on children and families.

But, I said yes to this one. When her sister-in-law mentioned it to me, I’m sure I had a look on my face that said no way. But after finding out that it was going to be a special and intimate wedding day, I quickly said yes.

I am so blessed to be included in such wonderful and memorable moments by my clients. Moments that they’ll remember forever. Moments that are meaningful. And the wedding celebration of this family is no different.
