ten little fingers and ten little toes…and also ten pounds! That’s how big this guy was when he was born and just look at how cute he is with all his little chubbiness! I think he is the biggest baby I’ve photographed to date! He was so good and slept the entire time, even with me moving him and squishing him and trying to get him in a certain position. so sweet! take a peek!

Dreams, possibilities, hopes, blessings, life, chances and a story. A new baby brings all of these. From the moment you hold her in your arms and the magnificent feeling of accomplishment overtakes you, this brand new soul brings you something new and changes you from within. God chooses us as parents for these brand new beings. He trusts us and loves us enough to change our lives forever by allowing us to raise them and teach them and nurture them. But what’s amazing is that we change. We stop being self-centered and give up our lives to give to our children. They become our reason for living, for doing good, for creating new goals and new dreams and trying to change our stories. What an awesome gift to have been given.

Baby J arrived 4 weeks early. Luckily mama’s labor went smooth and quick. I told her mama that she might be the most beautiful baby in the world, next to mine of course

Baby B’s mama contacted me about a week before she was due, interested in having me photograph B for my newbron promo. I made the drive to Katy and what a beautiful drive it was! Taking the back country roads always allows me to spend some time with Him and myself….peace

Baby B was a breeze to photograph and I truly have been blessed to have such great baby’s for this promo! She was tiny and sleepy and didn’t mind me moving her around at all A dream!

I say it every time, but there’s nothing like a sweet little buttercup-y newborn to curl up with, is there? Then again, as one friend recently said, no matter what your child’s age, snuggling up and and having those cherished moments is one of God’s best gifts to us!

I posted a few of this little guy below, but wanted to be sure to show a variety of the images I’m going for with my newborn promo.

This little guy is the 4th boy born into this family. What’s more is that all 4 of these guys are ages kindergarten and younger. But this little guy already seems used to the hustle and bustle of a group of boys! He slept through the whole session even when his older brothers were talking to him, gently nudging him, or getting a boo boo. Little Nathan is the first newborn I’ve photographed with my Newborn Promo. Thanks, Julie and Mark for allowing me to photograph him on such short notice! I hope you enjoy your baby as art!

If you’ve read through my newborn category, you’ll see a pattern. I love them. And who wouldn’t? What do I love about newborn sessions? I love that I am blessed with the opportunity to see a family welcoming a brand new soul into their home. I love that I get a chance to participate in those brand new baby days, you know the ones: jammies all day, food made and brought to you, lazy days, snuggling families. I miss those days so much and feel blessed to experience them with your families. Thank you!

I also love new ideas. I love curling babies up and snapping away. I love the art that babies are. And right now, I’d love to broaden my portfolio, offering new poses, new settings and new opportunities to create art with your babies.

If you are pregnant and are due any time in the next 3 months, or know someone who is, this post is for you!

I am currently looking for 10 brand new babies to photograph.

These casting call sessions will:

• Be complimentary (however, prints may be purchased at regular rates).

• Be goaled towards capturing a single image / pose (but if time and patience permits, additional poses and images may be attempted).

• Require a model release (most likely the image will be published).

• Be held at either your home or at an outdoor location of Christie’s preference.

The current casting calls are for:

• Any newborn babies that are 7 days or younger.

• Newborn twins and triplets, either one week of age or within one week of age of coming home from the nicu (preferably with minimal time spent in the nicu).

If you are expecting or know someone who is expecting (between now and December 31) and are interested in this opportunity, please feel free to email me with your due date and we can discuss further details! space is limited, so be sure to call as soon as possible and feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who is expecting!

Call me crazy, but one of my most favorite times was just after coming home from the hospital. Everyone was forced to stay quiet because the new baby was home. We lounged around in jammies all day long. People brought us dinner. I mean really, who couldn’t love that?! And that’s just what this next family has been up to these days. They have a brand new baby (Copeland–don’t you just love that name?!) in the house to cuddle up next to. Take a peek!

When mama called me to inquire about a newborn session, and this little guy was so new, I luckily was able to fit her in to my schedule right away. I’m so glad it worked out, because (as many of you, my avid readers, know), it is so important to get newborn photos done as early as possible. There’s just something about their newness that we want to capture for all of time.

There’s a bit of peace that comes from holding a brand new baby. I don’t know if it’s the idea that this new child is a new generation and all the promise a new generation holds. Maybe it’s just that a new baby brings new joy and new happiness. Maybe it’s as simple as just love. Whatever it is that brings me peace, I find it in every newborn I hold.

Baby E was no different. She was a gem, really. Slept the whole time, fussed only the tiniest bit. Allowed us to hold her, to fold her. Here are a few from the session:
