tuesday tips: nursery decor

I know the blogs been slow lately, I’m enjoying my down time as I revamp, refresh and wait to see where God’s leading me. Thanks for stopping by and hangin’ with me despite it! I’ve been having an inner battle trying to decide if I want to just put up “be back soon” page or if I want to make the blog a bit more personal. I already have a personal blog where I dream and vent and hope and pray. What do you think? Does making this blog more personal make it (me) more interesting? Your comments on this are welcomed!

I’ve decided to do a weekly feature post. I’m not sure where it will go, what it will include. But I do know that I’ve got plenty to share and there’s no sense in keeping it to myself. What good is that, right?

Today’s feature is nursery decor. I have gotten a ton of inquiries for newborn sessions this month…a ton! So I figured that there are plenty of mommas out there peepin’ this blog, why not give ‘em a little inspiration? I love photographing in people’s homes. I love the coziness that I find there. The warmth and comfort makes the client relaxed and even more beautiful. Photographing newborns in their very own space makes for special memories. That nursery will soon be a “big boy’s” or “pretty princess” room, so it’s always nice to document that special and fleeting time.

I recently spotted a beautiful site that focuses only on nursery decor. I love the inspiration boards, the colors, the decor and detail. I love how proper and placed everything looks. It really makes me want to have another baby again just so I can decorate (no, no, there’s not a chance of this happening, three’s enough for us!). Check out this glimpse of what I’m talking about below, or go over to the site and see the rest! http://laybabylay.com/

Another tool I’ve found in my quest to redesign my own home is pinterest. Have you heard of this, yet? Oh my goodness, how I love it so. It’s basically an online inspiration board that you can categorize. For instance, I have a bedroom “board” that I “pin” items of interest to. Our bedroom is the first project I’m working on and I’m really enjoying the process. But, I just typed in “nursery” into the search feature and came back with some great results that you might want to check out too! And if you’re so inclined to see what I find interesting, you can follow my board here!
