They were one of my very first clients. When they showed up to have Miss Lola photographed, I was so excited, mom brought all sorts of outfits and being that she is their only child, and a girl at that, we definitely had a very girly session. I remember we started at one location and then moved to another. The shoot was going great and Lola was so sweet with such good manners. At some point during the session something dreadful happend. I’d switched out my memory card and while doing so, dropped it in the grass. But I didn’t know it until I got home. Yikes!! This was one of the best sessions I’d had at that time and I’d lost all of the images!
I’d gone back that evening to look around, and even the next day, but when I’d gotten there, the lawn had been mowed already. I’d no choice but to call this family and schedule a re-shoot. Multiple things went through my mind as I waited for Mom to answer: “They’ll want a refund and then will tell all their friends what a loser I am”, “Please don’t be mad, please don’t be mad”, and many more. But in the end, they weren’t mad and totally understood that these things happen. We did a reshoot a few days later and it went even better than I’d anticipated. I was able to nail this session like no other before it. This reshoot redefined how I was shooting kids. Here’s one from way back:

And now, they return to me once a year to capture her. I’m so thankful for my repeat clients who believe so much in my art. Allowing me into your families and treating me as if I’m one of you. Letting me spend the time with your kids so that I can capture their true personalities. I am blessed! enough of the sappy stuff
Onto the latest from the D family shoot![]()
